Environmental, health, and safety (EHS) management has become critical in a world where workplace accidents occur frequently. It is true that to guarantee adequate workplace and environmental safety, regulatory agencies have adopted harsher restrictions. However, several accidents have demonstrated that facilities handling hazardous substances still do not fully understand EHS management.
Concern over worker safety is not region-specific. An example of this is the report that the International Labor Organization (www.ilo.org) shared. Around 2.3 million men and women worldwide die from illnesses or accidents related to their jobs each year, according to their analysis. That is six thousand deaths a day.
